The subtitle of the English translation of Julius Evola’s Ride the Tiger (Cavalcare la Tigre) promises that it offers “A Survival Manual for the Aristocrats of the Soul.”[1] As a result, one comes to the work with the expectation that it will constitute a kind of “self-help book” for Traditionalists, for “men against time.” One expects that Evola will offer moral support and perhaps even specific instructions for revolting against the modern world. Unfortunately, the subtitle proves misleading. Ride the Tiger is primarily devoted to an analysis of aspects of the present age of decline (the Kali Yuga): critiques of relativism, scientism, modern art, modern music, and of figures like Heidegger and Sartre; discussions of the decline of marriage, the relation between the sexes, drug use, and so forth. Many of the points Evola makes in this volume are made in his other works, sometimes at greater length and more lucidly.

Jordan Peterson and ‘The Sin of Pride’

I like Dr. Jordan Peterson. I have watched almost all of his YouTube videos, and listened to many of his interviews. I even have a ticket to one of his upcoming events.  He explains complex religious and psychological concepts in a way that is intellectually satisfying. Often these are truths that I believed but could not explain how or why. His explorations of Carl Jung and ancient literature—closely paralleling the work of Joseph Campbell—make reading more enjoyable and exciting. He helps make learning easier for students. There is no higher praise I can think of to offer a professor.

His prominence, however, does not make him infallible. In his applications of ancient archetypal truths to modern contexts—a difficult task for even the wisest among us—Peterson has mischaracterized the arguments for White Nationalism, and collective identity in general. It is a fairly typical criticism of collective identity, and so it is worth looking at a demonstrative quotation with a magnifying glass.

In today’s world of overreaching denial of Western race-culture, the almost demonic zeal with which our young are denied their own history, in favor of the non-western, is more than dismal – it is an evil thing, a thing which, by most accounts, has changed the very actualizations of the children of the West, for their heroes are not of their stock, their perceptions of beauty, counterfeits of the real expression of their future mates, the roles of masculinity and nobility being given to superficial, banal, and sociologically different types of men and women. This is more than dangerous, and will, in all likelihood, be discounted by many, but it is always a good thing to prove a postulation: So, I urge you, the reader – no, I dare you, to look to your own children, compare them with yourself, and then to your father or grandfather, and see just how far they, and you, have strayed. Our ancestors knew that we live within a myth. This myth has not ended with the passing of our ancestors; this myth never ended. Deep inside we know the magic that is our people, our nation, our tribe, our race, our culture, our ethnos. What we are is magical, because all our folk songs, legends, mythology, all the mysteries about our ancestors point to something. They all point to someplace where we come from and where we will return. Awakening is understanding that we never left this place. The national awakening, this spring that Europe is beginning to experience, that Estonia is experiencing, that Finland will experience, this national awakening that we live to bring about is magic itself, it is myth itself.

It was self-evident, many generations ago, that the introduction of chaos, that perniciouand ever-present design of nature was, in fact, being aided and abetted by the ‘human condition’, namely, that the psychological interactions of tribes and peoples were, to say the least, at odds with one another. Moreover, the implications, at least to the modern 21st Century observers has, to date, been met with a sense of trepidation and denial.

Psychology is a tricky subject.

As the data suggests, the markers of hereditary intelligence (known for millennia, and codified by scientists since the 18th Century), behavioral influences, early growth periods, trauma, and internal chemistry (or dysfunction therein) have, in no small way, mapped out the interactions, intra-personal relationships, as well as the intra-Cultural relationships, between the various Peoples of our reality, that is, the mechanisms of human and emotional development which, in the short-term, mark us all Human.

In the long-term, however these relationships and developments progress, or will be slowed, by the way we see these relationships extending, by implication, far into the Future, is a matter of conception and self-actualization.

The White Nationalist knows that all crime is based on race, as each race can, without exception, be shown to exhibit a certain ‘underclass’ which, amongst other things, commits crime relative to both its numerical strength and mental world-view. The difference, however, is the obvious disconnect between races and race-cultures (cf. Color of Crime, New Century Foundation1, Paved with Good Intentions, J. Taylor, Laird Wilcox, et al.) and has been dramatically itemized over the years.

Even without ‘the battle of statistics’ which, even now, rages on the pages of the Right and the Left, the empirical and anecdotal evidence surmounts the often casual and selective presentations of the so-called ‘national news’, and is lived and seen on a daily basis in both the large cosmopolis as well as the medium-sized multi-ethnic cities and suburbs; it is self-evident, that culture cannot exist in a multicultural environment. This is no less true for white culture, than it is for any other race-culture faced with the same dilemma, regardless of the propaganda foisted upon the nation by the so-called status quo. Moreover, it is also self-evident that over the years, due in large part to the white-ethnic retreat from its traditional national ethos based, in part, on its sense of propriety and respect for the institution of ‘law’ and religious interpretations of morality have, with more than a simple passive/aggressive relationship to themselves and those with whom, in many cases, are forced to interact, have become the ‘victimizers’ in most, if not all cases of criminal ‘pre-conditions’, that is, of thought-crimes.

White Nationalist Position on Medicine and Health Care.

The White Nationalist knows that of all public contact with professional members of the community, the Medical profession is the most important and personal of contacts that community members make in their lives – the possible exception to this would be the clergy – but the former is, by far, the most permanent and necessary element in a persons living reality.

Long before the present discussion of ‘national healthcare’, the white nationalist was inculcating that sense of duty, obligation, and compassion for members of his ethno-state; this did not start out as exhaustive, but was rife with the sense of duty and understanding that, firstly, the care of our newborn was paramount, as the necessity of new life begs the question of how best to prepare and pay for extended members of young families; secondly, the belief that our elderly were of the utmost extension of our sense of obligation to these persons, our Mothers and Fathers who, in their later years, deserve the honour and respect of their children (i.e. their folk-community) for the sacrifices (whether real or imagined) they made over the duration of their lives so that, in the end, their way of life and that of their children, might be handed to future generations for the maintenance of a brighter and long-enduring future.

In either case, Medical professionals are necessary.

All political movements need a history, and such histories, if well-constructed, almost always coalesce into myth. Once mythologized, a movement’s past can inform its present members about its reason for being, its need for continuing, and its plans for the future. And this can be accomplished quickly – and without the need for study or research – in the form of what Edmund Burke called “prejudice.” “Prejudice,” Burke says, “is of ready application in the emergency; it previously engages the mind in a steady course of wisdom and virtue, and does not leave the man hesitating in the moment of decision, skeptical, puzzled, and unresolved.”

Prejudice is a time-saver, in other words, and it puts everyone on the same page. These are two invaluable things for any movement which aims to effect political change. For those who wish to participate in any of the various factions of the Alt Right and learn its history and myth, they do not need to go much farther than The Great Purge: The Deformation of the Conservative Movement.
